This could be a burgeoning market for your product, a competitor going out of business, or even a global trend that could see demand for what you offer increase.
  4. Threats
    These are external elements that could cause trouble for the business or project. These are also outside of your control. For example, a new competitor in the market, a change in government regulation, an economic downturn, etc.

A good SWOT Analysis is one that is honest and critically evaluates all relevant factors. It also needs to be specific – broad statements and vague terms won’t be much help. A good SWOT analysis is also simple and easy to understand, and it focuses on the most critical factors affecting a business or project. It’s not only about identifying these factors, but also about using this information to inform action and decision-making.
